Kadabu

Hurnad kadabu

This is also a special sweet prepared during festivals especially during Ganesh Chaturthi. It is believed that kadabu is Lord Ganesha's favourite sweet.

As kids we used to sing

“ Ganesha Banda, kayi kadabu tinda....

Which means ” Lord Ganesha came and ate fruits and kadabu…

How to prepare kadabu?

Ingredients :

  1. Hurna – 1 cup
  2. Dough (same as the dough prepared while making Holige/obbattu)
  3. Oil for frying
Preparation:
  1. Take a small portion of the dough and using wooden stick roll it into a oval shape. Apply all- purpose flour to prevent the dough from sticking to the stick.
  2. Take a portion of the hurna and place it in the centre of the oval shaped dough.
Fold the dough into half and seal using milk/water.
Deep fry the kadabu until they are golden brow
